Our booth at the Atlanta Apparel Mart!

We had such a fun and successful week showcasing our designs at the Apparel Mart a couple weeks ago.  So, I figured I'd share a couple shots of our booth.  We were very happy with our first show and are now in 10 boutiques and in 7 states!  Woo-Hoo!

Summer Update

        Sincerest apologies about the lack of blog posts, hopefully you all have been keeping up with the latest Turquoise Peach developments via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and our website (be sure to like or follow us if you don't already).To say that the summer has been a whirlwind would be an understatement! When we haven’t been locked away doing inventory, organizing products and our new shipments, we have been between trunk shows, preparing our booth at the Atlanta Mart, and now a trip to Turkey is underway. While I am here shopping for rugs and preparing last minute details for the mart in August, Lindsay and Jeff are celebrating their 1-year anniversary in Turkey. Although they may be celebrating their anniversary, that’s not to say she isn’t getting some work done every time Jeff looks away. We are so excited to bring you a sneak peek of the amazing finds Lindsay is discovering while on “vacation”! We can’t wait to add these goodies to our website very soon. Stay tuned!

What a fun day we had yesterday at Westside Provisions in Atlanta.  Despite the windy and chilly weather, it still turned out beautiful - and fun! Below are some of our favorite shots.  We hope you enjoy!

Homeward Bound

What an adventurous week we’ve had!  We’re sad to be leaving India, but very excited to begin our trunk shows and showcase our unique products back in the States.  We’ll be bringing back a multitude of fun scarves, in many prints and designs – from traditional patterns to tribal Ikats.  As well, we will have lots of unique jewelry and a variety of items for your home, of course, all handmade in India. 

Not only have we found great items to bring back, but we’ve also established wonderful relationships with designers in India.  They are very excited to work with Turquoise Peach and are anxious to see what YOU think of their designs!

Americans are so...predictable

Every morning we have the same selection from a VERY large and diverse Indian breakfast buffet - scrambled eggs, hash browns and pancakes. Clearly, the wait staff has noticed and had breakfast ready for us when we walked in the door. Love it!

Discovering "The Pink City"

Wow.  What an eventful last couple days it's been for Turquoise Peach.  Between lost luggage, running on 2 hours of sleep and a driver that relies on "good brakes, a good horn and good luck", it's been quite a ride.  No worries though, we are having an absolute blast and making fantastic textile discoveries along the way. 

The last couple days have been spent in Jaipur, aka "The Pink City".  Jaipur is in Northwest India and known for it's unique and vibrant textile and jewelry.  Turquoise Peach is happy to report that Jaipur certainly lived up to it's reputation! We spent two days exploring market after market, combing through floor to ceiling stacks of fabric, a five-story jewelry store, our very own sari fitting and establishing crucial relationships.  

During our visit, we had the opportunity to observe and actually take part in the intricate process called "block printing".  The unique way these talented artisans create their masterpieces enables the fabric found in India to be one of a kind.  Maybe the pictures can give you a bit more insight into the process.  No worries, as Turquoise Peach will soon be offering these wonderful block printed designs in our tableware and pillows collection.

This morning we took a quick break from our shopping to ride an elephant - yes that's right, an elephant.  She, along with the guide, took us to the beautiful Amber Fort.  It was bumpy, smelly, yet absolutely thrilling.  It's certainly an experience that we won't soon forget!  

Tomorrow we venture to the Delhi Handicraft Fair, which will showcase over 1000 local designers and artisans.  We're excited to see what treasures we can find - so please stay tuned!
